The volume collects the interpretations of the relationship between messianism and philosophy by Italian and foreign scholars. It is divided into three parts: 1. “Jewish Messianism” (Maimonide, Abulafia, Scholem, Taubes, Idel); 2. “Christian Messianism” (Moltmann); 3. “Philosophical Messianism” (Wronski, Mickiewicz, Cohen, Rosenzweig, Bloch, Susman, Benjamin, Adorno, Buber, Levinas, Derrida). The articles, written from an historical and theoretical perspective, aim to underline the influence of the messianic idea in XIX and XX centuries’ philosophical currents, which questioned the problem of the meaning of existence from an eschatological point of view.

Abstract
The volume collects the interpretations of the relationship between messianism and philosophy by Italian and foreign scholars. It is divided into three parts: 1. “Jewish Messianism” (Maimonide, Abulafia, Scholem, Taubes, Idel); 2. “Christian Messianism” (Moltmann); 3. “Philosophical Messianism” (Wronski, Mickiewicz, Cohen, Rosenzweig, Bloch, Susman, Benjamin, Adorno, Buber, Levinas, Derrida). The articles, written from an historical and theoretical perspective, aim to underline the influence of the messianic idea in XIX and XX centuries’ philosophical currents, which questioned the problem of the meaning of existence from an eschatological point of view.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
