The Mysteries that taked place in the sanctuary of Eleusis, strategically located at junction of important roads of connection to Boeotia, Peloponnese and Attica, were very famous in the ancient world. They are worships proved by documents in the best way, through the architecture of the sanctuary, the prosopography of the priests, the iconography or the reflection of the letterature. The origins of the cult, set up by Goddess Demeter, were disclosed through the unknown author of a Homeric hymn devoted to Demeter who probably lived in 600 b. C .The anonymous poet writed hymn when the Solonian Telesterion was just built or has being built in the place where there was the Megaron B, a Mycenaean construction used like residence which housed rooms dedicated to religious ceremonies as many discovered furnishings attested. Other Telesteria being bigger and bigger, would be set up in the same place, as evidence of spread of the Mysteries that firstly was very important in the area of Eleusis, became little by little a Panhellic institution, specially in the second half of the sixth century b. C. the sanctuary of Eleusis acquired an universal value when was controlled and administred by state of Athens that directed the festive events and when was adopted by the Romans.
