CRUISE VESSEL DESIGN A book of history, culture and design of cruise ships. Has been written and investigated a lot in the architectural and engineering field; but it hasn’t been done the same for the naval architecture. For this reason, the book “Cruise Vessels Design” has born:, a unique script with the purpose of opening the path of a wider knowledge, new research and new ideas. The Volume is divided in two main Chapters. The first chapter describes the evolution of shipbuilding, in both exterior and interior design and fitting. A major part is dedicated to contemporary cruise ships and to the evolution of a large and heterogeneous worldwide fleet which is in continuous development and where the exterior shape and the interior design are closely related to each other. The second chapter talks about the general arrangement of the interior of a cruise ship. Though not exhaustive of a complex topic of a naval design, sets out some basic fundamentals, covering the main areas of the ship, both public and private. A specific treatment is dedicated to the Stateroom, the only private space on board.
