Several studies have highlighted that migration can be a stressful experience with psychological and emotional costs (Baccallao, Smokowsky, 2007). The path of adjustment can be facilitated by the sense of perceived self-efficacy and by the ability to develop relationships with people belonging to the host culture (Mogghaddam, Taylor, Wright, 1993). When men migrate are particularly salients the job placement and the professional identity. The work context within which it develops professional identity and social status (Walsh, Gordon, 2007) can promote subjective well-being and the contact between different ethnic groups by reducing the discrimination between groups (Lahti-Jasinskaja , Liebkind, Perhoniemi 2007). The objective of this paper is to investigate, through interviews, the migration project, the path of integration and the stress associated with migration, the definition of professional identity, the social network, strategies for reorganization of previous skills, the related self-esteem and perception of acculturation. The qualitative research involved 42 immigrant men (mean age 38 years). The main results show that in the socialization work seem to have a important role the religion and the ethnicity. Moreover, the work of care appears to allow the development of close and positive relationships with the host culture.
