This chapter offers a critical study of the “Dizionario spagnolo-italiano, italiano-spagnolo” (S. Sañé and G. Schepisi), published by Zanichelli-VOX in 2005, a study carried out as part of the Italian National Research Project: Glossaries, Dictionaries and Corpora: Lexicology and Lexicography of European languages. It pays special attention to the editorial context in which it was published, the editorial sources, the user’s needs, as well as develops an exhaustive analysis of the macro- and micro-structure of the dictionary. The analysis of the macro-structure focuses on the number of headwords, the cross-references and the types of entries. The study of the micro-structure pays special attention to the grammatical information available in the entries, the abbreviations and meaning discriminations, the style labels, the translations of the headwords and different meanings, and the usage examples, which are unfortunately the same in both parts of the dictionary. The study concludes that it is to be hoped that such an important dictionary in the editorial line of VOX and Zanichelli should be revised and updated in the next edition.

Abstract
The study concludes that it is to be hoped that such an important dictionary in the editorial line of VOX and Zanichelli should be revised and updated in the next edition.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
