At a short distance from the town of Fabriano (AN), that appears to have been founded in the early Middle Ages, there are the vestiges of a small Roman town, Attidium, of which some slight remains and inscriptions are extant . This paper seeks to print to outline the political and administrative history of this Roman municipium not only through the study of literary sources available but also through the epigraphical documents.
