Abstract
At the end of XIXth century, the diffusion of Schopenhauer’s philosophy in France deeply influenced literary production. In his synthesis, Théodule Ribot emphasizes the relationship between the Will, the Thing-in-itself and the Essences, or pure Ideas. Fantastic literature exploits these relations to create short-stories which focus on the Idea as a Being who haunts men and masters them. The “Mercure de France” published many short stories by Gaston Danville based on this subject.File in questo prodotto:
