L'acqua in Marocco tra religione, paesaggi storici, usi e problemi attuali

As in other religions, water also takes on particular importance in Islam. The complex cultural and religious system in which water management is located has contributed to the construction of the landscape of much of the Islamic world, from gardens to oases, from fountains to monumental basins to irrigation systems. Today that landscape and the culture that expressed it increasingly constitute a historical-cultural heritage and in some cases are transformed into an aesthetic attribute of a tourist shell. Finally, the relationship between Islam and water deserves to be studied also in light of the need to guarantee wise use of water resources in a world in which civil law can never be completely separated from religious dictates.
