The volume (526 p.) analyzes transport services and infrastructures with the conceptual and analytical tools of economic sciences, also taking into account the most relevant technological, historical, legal and political implications. The macroeconomic vision of transport analyzes its influence on production and its geography, the consequences on the regional economies, the environmental implications - with a focus on technological evolution aimed at greater sustainability. Transport microeconomics focuses on what influences the supply and demand of services and infrastructures, the behavior of businesses and consumers, the market structure and their contestability. The third part of the volume frames transport based on technology: maritime, road, rail, air transport, and complex and intermodal cycles, which have become crucial with the cargo unitization, automation, info-telematic technologies. The fourth part finally analyzes market regulations, transport policies, the main reasons and counterindications of public intervention. It includes an in-depth analysis of urban mobility, which pursues a difficult balance between collective interests and individual behavior. These are the premises for a reflection on current transport scenarios, influenced by (i) innovations in telecommunications and energy, (ii) sensitivity to the environment, and (iii) the changing international political framework. At a time when changes in the lifestyle, occurred after the Covid-19 pandemic, are undermining globalization and offer a glimpse of new economic and geographical paradigms in production and consumption.

Abstract
At a time when changes in the lifestyle, occurred after the Covid-19 pandemic, are undermining globalization and offer a glimpse of new economic and geographical paradigms in production and consumption.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
