The articles in this special issue aim to contribute to the methodological and theoretical discussion on the interconnections between places and memory as well as the concept of chronotope and its narratological application. Within this framework, they provide insights into the way in which the chronotope-concept can be applied to the processes of remembering and their verbalisation as well within discursive and semiotic practices, which can also include the negotiation of identities and positioning patterns.

Abstract
