Abstract

The urban space of cities is the centre of daily life for most people on our planet, as well as attract- ing a large number of commuters. The variations of the tourist phenomenon were also framed through the places where they occurred, observing that «in the past tourist spaces were polarized spaces, that is concentrated in areas that have very well defined physical, environmental and climatic features (sea, mountain, islands, etc.). Instead, nowadays tourist spaces are widespread and pervasive. Elements such as the rural landscape and the urban environment, being in close contact, interact in a sophisticated way and create new mixed tourism strat- egies that have gradually spread more and more in recent years. The idea of “rural tourism” has spread widely, becoming a reliable alternative to the more classic forms of tourism promotion.
