Between history and archaeology: words, approaches and methods for the study of landscapes and rural spaces The paper aims to retrace the different path of the Italian and English approach to the archaeological study of the landscape and rural areas and to their protection. This comparison will help to reflect on the reason of the differences and to bring to light the need of a critical discussion on the categories through which we read the object of our investigation, underling to which extent they influence our research approach and what we see in our sources.
