Departing from a definition of the term “transculturality” and its use in different linguistic and academic contexts, this article proposes a basis for a typology of forms and motifs of transcultural literature. In order to do so, I discuss a possible definition of “transcultural literature” in order to then talk about formal characteristics and, finally, features with regard to content that these texts share. I use a comparative approach and illustrate my arguments with examples from texts in English and German.

Abstract
Departing from a definition of the term “transculturality” and its use in different linguistic and academic contexts, this article proposes a basis for a typology of forms and motifs of transcultural literature. In order to do so, I discuss a possible definition of “transcultural literature” in order to then talk about formal characteristics and, finally, features with regard to content that these texts share. I use a comparative approach and illustrate my arguments with examples from texts in English and German.File in questo prodotto:
