The note scrutinizes the insertion of a Latin translation of Metaphysics Theta 6. 1048b17-36 in the 1562 Giunta Latin edition of the Metaphysics, the most influential one during the early modern era. The passage cannot be found in the previous Apud Iunctas edition of 1550. Its Latin translation, which is due to the Florentine humanist Ciriaco Strozzi (1504-1565), does not seem to conflate exactly with any extant manuscript of the Greek text, nor with its 1497 editio princeps in Aedibus Aldi.

Abstract
The note scrutinizes the insertion of a Latin translation of Metaphysics Theta 6. 1048b17-36 in the 1562 Giunta Latin edition of the Metaphysics, the most influential one during the early modern era. The passage cannot be found in the previous Apud Iunctas edition of 1550. Its Latin translation, which is due to the Florentine humanist Ciriaco Strozzi (1504-1565), does not seem to conflate exactly with any extant manuscript of the Greek text, nor with its 1497 editio princeps in Aedibus Aldi.File in questo prodotto:
