What defines the archetypical nature of a Hero? Of course he is a human being, whose actions are (for better of for worse) worthy of worship. But this is so because the life of the Hero, more than that of anyone else, brings into reality and fulfils a predetermined fate. Of all the classical Heroes, Agamemnon is the one that best adheres to this archetype. So completely that he is set apart from the rest of humanity, confined into an utter and uninterrupted solitude. He (actually, his whole bloodline) does not choose his destiny. And when his actions de- part from the expected pattern, then the course of the events promptly brings him back to his predetermined role. When one moves forward from the ancient concept of fate, the story of Agamemnon morphs into a paradigm for the riddles of depth psychology.

Abstract
When one moves forward from the ancient concept of fate, the story of Agamemnon morphs into a paradigm for the riddles of depth psychology.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
