The essays in this volume originated within the framework of the project of the same name, which was funded by the IISG. The aim of the project is to trace a cartography of the places mentioned in the oral narratives of the so-called Israel corpus - a collection of narrative biographical interviews with Israelis who emigrated from German-speaking countries to Palestine/Israel mostly in the 1930s. The focus here is not so much on the geographical determination of the places, but on their function within the narrative memory process of the persons during the narration, which is closely intertwined with the emotional dimension. The inter- and transdisciplinary studies presented here are based on different approaches within linguistics, history and cultural studies, with a special focus on perspectives of conversation and narrative analysis and oral history research. The analyses contribute significantly to the reconstruction of the lives of German-speaking Jews forced to emigrate, which is an important part of European history and a significant chapter in the history of migration in the 20th century.

Abstract
The analyses contribute significantly to the reconstruction of the lives of German-speaking Jews forced to emigrate, which is an important part of European history and a significant chapter in the history of migration in the 20th century.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
