The most frequently used rankings when classifying cities as tourist destinations tend to rate them based primarily on the quantitative number of visitors rather than their importance in the qualitative collective imagination. The Dream Cities research aims to study those sets of indicators capable of signifying which and how many are the factors that influence the “desired” (vocational, not obligated) arrival of travellers to such destinations. The aim is to identify the elements that influence this imaginary and which generate an idea of a “dream city” - or “desired city” or “desired destination”- that is to say, attractive and appealing at the same time - that motivates a “call effect”, of desire, of travel, of knowledge and of a more or less prolonged stay - as well as to analyze. The final objective is to analyze both scenarios - that of dream cities and that of theme cities - which are not necessarily separate or differentiated - and also to point out that of corollary, derived, associated or, if preferred, complementary cities.

Abstract
The final objective is to analyze both scenarios - that of dream cities and that of theme cities - which are not necessarily separate or differentiated - and also to point out that of corollary, derived, associated or, if preferred, complementary cities.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
