This essay underlines Moore’s ambiguous relation to Modernism, which was due to her peculiar and idiosyncratic elaboration of some of the Modernist experiences and characteristics. This analysis takes into consideration three specific elements, one dealing with Moore’s style of life in New York during the ‘20s, and two focusing more specifically on her poetry, respectively a thematic and a stylistic trait of her oeuvre, namely her treatment of urban space and the predilection for spatial patterns in the organization of her poems.

Abstract
This essay underlines Moore’s ambiguous relation to Modernism, which was due to her peculiar and idiosyncratic elaboration of some of the Modernist experiences and characteristics. This analysis takes into consideration three specific elements, one dealing with Moore’s style of life in New York during the ‘20s, and two focusing more specifically on her poetry, respectively a thematic and a stylistic trait of her oeuvre, namely her treatment of urban space and the predilection for spatial patterns in the organization of her poems.File in questo prodotto:
