This study is focused on the evaluation of the ionic release of metallic materials commonly used as dies in the Italian manufacturing of pasta (CuAl10Fe3, CuZn40Pb 0,05 wt. %, CuZn40Pb 0,20 wt.%) during storage. The effect of the surface finishing on the corrosion products and the ionic release were evaluated in a system mimicking common conservation procedures adopted by third parties. Analyses evidenced different responses according to the system under consideration and surface finishing with important variations in terms of release for the CuAl10Fe3 alloy.

Abstract

This study is focused on the evaluation of the ionic release of metallic materials commonly used as dies in the Italian manufacturing of pasta (CuAl10Fe3, CuZn40Pb 0,05 wt. %, CuZn40Pb 0,20 wt.%) during storage. The effect of the surface finishing on the corrosion products and the ionic release were evaluated in a system mimicking common conservation procedures adopted by third parties. Analyses evidenced different responses according to the system under consideration and surface finishing with important variations in terms of release for the CuAl10Fe3 alloy.
