Terraced landscapes are a patrimony of resources that must be redescovered, to promote agriculture as a creative sustainable choice for the future, involving people in the successful care and maintenance of landscape. Terraced landscapes need to be kept alive: this can happen only where communities see them as e resources-carrying reality. A productive relation with land is a strong connection, even when production is a mix of surviving agriculture, rural tourism and niche production. Bio diversity, memory, History, cultural hetìritage are some of the different inner resources still lying in the terraced landscapes. As example we can quote wine terraced landscapes in Italy, where we can find real oenologic treasures to develop an innovative viticulture, based on ancient wine grapes. We need to improve the recognition and the reading of the meaning and values of landscape, involving the stakeholders in shared projects to enrich quality of life environmet by multifunctional satisfactory activities. facing participation, a project for the valorization of terraced landscapes can apply the concept of "creative agriculture" as a strategy involving the communities to bring into a stronger system all single initiatives ( from the promotion of local products to the offering of a new hosting model), showing people a way to give a new interpretation of agriculture as a job with interesting potentialities (quality of life environment, possibilities of multi-functional activities, new social model, etc.), to attract young peopleto work in terraced landscapes. Tis strategy also points out the value of a shared project to enrich a local community, based on the peculiar characters of the rural landscape.
