Investment and Public-Private Partnership for a European Industrial Policy in the Global Context

For the EU this stage of the globalisation process is an opportunity to contribute to the establishment of a new world order, enhancing and renewing at the same time the European culture of the social market economy. To take this chance EU has to overcome its current weak position in the global scenario through the definition of a new institutional framework, moving forward towards an Economic Union through the development of a real European industrial policy. The Junker Plan represents a new step towards this aim. Through it in fact the European Institutions are strengthening the role of the public actor in supporting big projects and conveying resources from different actors, with synergic effects. Today the challenge is not only to provide funding, but also to act structurally on the construction of a European institutional framework. A European control room in fact is needed in order to guarantee the main resources mostly managed at national level be used to reduce gaps and promote development.
