In "Lectura super Sententias" Bonaventura discusses the ancient philosophers'opinions about God, the created world and the nature of man, emphasizing the progressive approach by them to the truth. Thus, he reveals his interest in the history of philosophy and his positive outlook: Bonaventure shows high esteem for their opinions and tries to understand the reasons behind their unavoidable errors about the nature of God and his relations with the created world.
