Ovidio, Chrétien e il paradigma medievale nel Titus Andronicus

This paper deals about the character of Philomela as it appears first in Ovid’s Metamorphoses, and then in a work of Chrétien de Troyes who rewrote her history in old French verses. But Philomela is also the mythical alter ego of Lavinia, the Titus’ daughter in William Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus where she plays a key role in a reinterpretation of medieval paradigm in the light of a new poetry.
