The distribution of Antipathella subpinnata Ellis and Soalnder, 1786 in the Mediterranean Sea has been investigated through personal records and a wide census involving diving centers along all the Italian coasts. This black coral species is a common component of the lower fringe of the circalittoral twilight environment, under 50 m depth, where hard substrata are available.

Abstract
The distribution of Antipathella subpinnata Ellis and Soalnder, 1786 in the Mediterranean Sea has been investigated through personal records and a wide census involving diving centers along all the Italian coasts.
