Between the seventeenth and eighteenth century, there was a generalisation of what, since its origins, has been an application of perspective to represent architecture: measurement control. During this period several authors contributed in defining measurement control and it is worth quoting those who led to a systematisation of the measuring points and the reverse method. These triggered a series of important consequences as well as demonstrating the versatility of perspective as a subject that unveils the close relationships rooted among drawing, architecture, science and technique.

Abstract

Between the seventeenth and eighteenth century, there was a generalisation of what, since its origins, has been an application of perspective to represent architecture: measurement control.
