Today, Lower Saxony is one of Germany’s most intensive agricultural state - second only to Bayern in terms of croplands and numbers of farms, home to a high-performing and innovative food brands. According to this, studying the Lower Saxony‘s regional food capacity and comparing it with other‘s German territories represent an important preliminary step of the research. Starting from this point, Food and the City design studio investigates on possible alternative visions for the future urban development of Hannover as a Rural Metropolis
