Usefulness of internal fixation associated with autogenous corticospongious bone graft in the treatment of aseptic pseudoarthrosis [Validita attuale dell'associazione osteosintesi interna ed autoinnesti corticospongiosi nel trattamento delle pseudoartrosi asettiche]

The authors report the results of internal fixation (plating or intramedullary nailing) associated with autogenous corticospongious bone graft for the treatment of aseptic posttraumatic non-unions of long bones. A good result, with healing of non-union and integration of the bone graft, was achieved in 92% of the 57 lesions treated (tibial non-unions, 19 non-unions of both bones of forearm, 12 humeral non-unions and 5 femoral non-unions).
