Results of constant speed compression tests carried out on cement-antibiotic mixtures are given. The influence of Mefoxin concentration on the elastic compression modulus and S. simplex R.O. yield is evaluated. Tests were carried out after the samples had been kept in physiological solution at 37°C for months. Results obtained were as follows: a reduction in both parameters examined inversely proportional to antibiotic concentration. At the maximum antibiotic concentrations the reduction was 9% in relation to antibiotic-free cement
