Abstract

The problem of power flows that are greater than thermal ratings specified for electric lines has been assumed as a subject for an expert system prototype. Three solutions are presented and discussed under criteria based on possible on-line, off-line and training applications. Examples on test networks and different man machine interface solutions are compared and suggestions for improvements are given to allow for future validation of expert systems as software in modern control centers.
