The interaction of methanol with pure and KOH doped TiO 2 anatase has been studied by means of TPD and FT-IR techniques, and by pulse reactor measurements. Three different samples of TiO 2, have been considered. FT-IR spectra have allowed identification of a number of H-bonded and chemisorbed species present on the TiO 2, surface. The nature of such species has been related to the results of TPD experiments and of pulse reactor measurements. By taking into account the different experimental conditions of the three techniques, a unitary picture of the CH 3OH-TiO 2 surface interaction is arrived at. © 1985.

Abstract
