RBCO (R = Y and Rare Earths) powders have been prepared via solid state reactions. From these powders large single-crystal (particularly of Nd, Sm and Eu) 123 phase have been grown by the flux method. FT-IR and FT-FIR infrared transmission analysis of powders and infrared reflection of single crystals have been investigated. An interpretation of the vibrational structure of the orthorombic 123 phase is proposed.

Abstract
