Two new fault tolerant multilevel PWM techniques, devoted to the command of Cascaded Multilevel (CM) converters, are presented: a Sine PWM with interleaved carriers technique and a Space Vector PWM technique, based on the redundancy properties inherent in multilevel modulation schemes. A performance comparison among the new devised PWM techniques and some already existing solutions is also carried out in normal and fault conditions.

Abstract
