The result of that experience was the classic “Tristes Tropiques” (“A world on the wane”), but much more important the portrait, made by words, “nebolous images”, extraordinary metaphors, impressions, nostalgic memories, black and white shots of a city that was being trasformed. The French strutturalist could pick its future contraddictions. The text follows this human, anthropological, deep experience.
