This book testifies the wide discussion among jurists and practitioners of different fields (social workers, health, education, registry and police officers) on the impact of the new Italian rules on immigration, called “pacchetto sicurezza”. These recent laws (mainly due to the media terrifying spread of the restrictions enacted) risk to wipe out the access to essential public services of irregular immigrants, even of minors and of pregnant women, and this fact is going to badly affect their lives and to void their fundamental rights as persons. The new rules create more security’ risks instead of preventing them. Moreover they are in conflict with the practice ethic “mission” of social workers and officers of health, education and registry, therefore they refuse to denounce irregular immigrants who ask for services.
