Abstract

"Magasin Général" is a graphic novel by two French-speaking artists, Régis Loisel and Jean-Louis Tripp. The article focuses on the narrative strategies that are employed in the creative process involving images and language. The tight collaboration between the two creators, called the “Loitripp”, generates a very rich product that is a mixture of their two ways of comic storytelling. By the use of tools derived both from narratology and comic art cricticism, we'll underline the main features of the narration, dealing with the construction of the narrative, the creation of the atmospheres and pointing out the main characteristics of the graphic work.
