The article retraces the evolution of Spanish fiction in the final period of Franco dictatorship. Between the second half of the Sixties and 1975, authors like Juan Benet, Camilo José Cela y Eduardo Mendoza became spokespersons for a renewal in Spanish fiction canon, able to speed up political and social change that took place after the death of Franco.

Abstract

The article retraces the evolution of Spanish fiction in the final period of Franco dictatorship.
