The essay focuses on European Family Law, with the aim of promoting harmonization though a better knowledge and understanding of the existing diversity. It compares maintenance obligations rules existing in some European countries with the proposed Regulation COM(2005)649 and the Principles of European Family Law. The study was developed in a European project, named REMOR (Research and E-learning on Maintenance Obligations Recovery), carried on by Genoa’s University with the Genoa’s Bar Association, the Riga’s Graduate School of Law, the Malta Chamber of Advocates and the National Association of Romanian Bars.
