The articles of the volume illustrate the project of the Lexicon Iconographicum Numismaticae Classicae et Mediae Aetatis (LIN), which main purpose is to explain the meaning of the coin’ types with a objective and scienfific method and a successive analysis over space and time of a “iconographic language” through greek, roman and medieval coinage. LIN is promoted by universities of Bologna, Genoa, Messina, Milan from 2003 to today.
