It is for a long time that a transformation recognizing the importance and value assumed by the Arts for the development of the local systems is taking place: common patrimony of testimonies, identity and memory of a territory to preserve and improve in a combined process of protection, management and exploitation. The culture economy is indeed one of the main themes the increase of our country is focused on. In this context, the meeting between the Design disciplines and those historically related to the Arts open new thinking spaces, proposing new approach models and new application fields. The article describes the results of the The Prin D.Cult 2004-06 research that involved the Research Units of the Universities of Genoa, Milan, Verona, Turin, Rome, Naples and Palermo.
