This chapter critically explores the complex legacy of 20th-century industrialisation and deindustrialisation processes, addressing challenges and opportunities in (post)industrial landscapes and heritage conservation. It examines the multifaceted nature of (post)industrial landscapes, which embody both tangible and intangible elements. These landscapes, marked by the interplay of memory and transformation, demand a conscious and respectful reuse and the fostering of sustainable development and community engagement. By suggesting the employment of interdisciplinary methodologies and embracing change as an opportunity, the author highlights the need for active dialogue among academic, institutional, and local actors to preserve and reinterpret these evolving cultural assets.
