Romanzo e memoria (ispaniche suggestioni)

Memory and novel, in principle antithetical terms, are often found side by side in the international literary context and show an increasingly close link that starts from the literary object and extends by osmosis to the specialised criticism. Even, and above all, in the Spanish context this contact now appears dominant. The Civil War, the Francoism and the subsequent Democratic Transition are in fact the dominant theme of much of the Spanish narrative production of the last thirty years. The aim of this article is to introduce some reflections that may contribute to the development of studies aimed at deepening the reasons for this deep interest that writers, and the world of culture in general, maintain in historical events that seem socially and politically very distant by now.
