Let X be a real Banach space. The rectangular constant (X) and some generalizations of it, were introduced by N. Gastinel and J.L. Joly around half century ago. Few other results on them have been proved in the following (see[4]). In this paper we introduce a new parameter by using the isosceles orthogonality obtaing a characterization of Hilbert spaces.

Abstract
