In the last decade, the theme of bicycle mobility has become an increasingly important indicator of urban quality. The international recognition of the “Bicycle Friendly Cities index“, introduced by the agency Copenhagenize Design Co., as a tool for the study of inclusion factors, accessibility, safety perception, intermodality and development of cycling infrastructures in over 130 cities worldwide. In this scenario the case of Copenhagen represent a significant example where the choice of alternative means of transport has determined the adaptation a of urban and regional cyclepedestrian infrastructure networks (356 km in total). The creation of new infrastructures brings out a concept of dynamic public space, which can also innovate the use of consolidated paths (space of cycling), as ordering and qualifying elements of new urban landscapes (place of cycling).
