University innovation and theological rebirth at the 16th century University of Salamanca. The rebirth of theological knowledge in the 16th century is strongly linked to the history of Spanish Alma Mater. Although all European universities have participated in the enhancement of theological studies, it is undeniable that the University of Salamanca has played a decisive role in which concerns specifically to Scholastic Theology. Nevertheless, the reform implemented by Francisco de Vitoria in Salamanca must be understood not only as an original innovation, but rather as a renewal implemented by him on the teaching model already adopted by the University of Paris at the beginning of the 16th century. However, it must be recognized that, before the innovations introduced by Vitoria, the reform of the theological method had not yet reached its full maturity in the Faculty of Theology. It will be Vitoria, then, who will bring the reform to fruition, allowing the dissemination of a method intended to revitalize - and not only at the University of Salamanca - the contents of Theological Science.

Abstract
It will be Vitoria, then, who will bring the reform to fruition, allowing the dissemination of a method intended to revitalize - and not only at the University of Salamanca - the contents of Theological Science.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
