In the last decades, the idea of Cultural Heritage increased up to including “all the evidence, material and immaterial, testimoning civilty”. Nevertheless, part of our architectural heritage, especially twentieth century architecture, is still exclused from the widespread notion of Heritage, both from a normative and an opinions point of view. On the other hand, the debate on the “Modern Heritage Conservation", arised about thirty years ago as a “heterodox” aspect of the restoration discipline, still not creating compelling responses, recognized by the scientific community, in terms of interventions. In this context, both orothodox and heretical conservation stances, are likely to achieve the opposite effects of the conservation needs, increasing, by the time, the amount of lost modern heritage. This paper proposes a reflection on the issue of the conservation and selection of the XX century architectural Heritage, through the presentation of the case study of a widespread heritage, the seaside colonies for children in Liguria. An Heritage, for the most part unknown to critics and not protected due to its heterogeneous characteristics that make difficult applicable to it the current selective and conservative criterias.

Abstract
An Heritage, for the most part unknown to critics and not protected due to its heterogeneous characteristics that make difficult applicable to it the current selective and conservative criterias.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
